The Abbey Terms and Conditions

Rules and conditions for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham’s luxury spa. Please read these rules and conditions carefully.

If you do not understand any of the rules or conditions please contact a member of staff at The Abbey.

Cancellations

If for any reason the client cannot make their appointment, they must call us on 020 8227 3001.We require 48 hours notice on all treatments and packages to avoid a 100% cancellation charge.

Prices

The Abbey reserves the right to raise prices and modify or discontinue treatments without prior notice to ensure that maximum standards of service and quality are met.

Promotions and special events

In the event of changes/amends being made to bookings relating to Promotions and Special Events, any date changes may only occur within the advertised promotion dates. Alternatively a monetary credit will be offered against a full price package. Any offers or discounts for a promotion must be requested at time of booking

Treatment times

Once a client has checked into The Abbey, treatment times are strictly non exchangeable/refundable in light of the client not arriving for a treatment/unable to attend the treatment. On all packages all services must be taken on the original booking date and no option is available to credit treatments/services to future dates in the event of the client not partaking of all the services included in the package booked.

Inappropriate behavior whilst in a treatment will not be tolerated.

Running late

If you are running late for your appointment please contact The Abbey immediately! We will always try to accommodate your lateness however, it isn’t always possible due to other client bookings. As a result  it will be deducted from your treatment time.

We advise you to arrive 20 minutes prior to your appointment in order to check in and complete a consultation card before your treatment begins

Excessive noise or disturbance and mobile phones

We kindly request all guests to respect other Spa users by refraining from the use of mobile phones and to keep noise to an agreeable level throughout the Spa facility. In this way, all our guests will be able to enjoy the facilities in a stress free atmosphere. We reserve the right to ask any guest or group of guests to leave the Spa if they are disturbing other users of the facilities.

Valuables

No responsibility can be accepted by the Company for the safety of money or valuables of any kind brought to the spa. If you do bring valuable items it is essential they are covered by your own insurance for the period of your stay. The Company will not be liable, under any circumstances whatsoever, for damage, injury or consequential loss, however caused, to our guests. Lockers are provided for you to securely keep your belongings safe.

Alcohol consumption

On safety grounds alcohol consumption affects an individual’s safe use of the facilities and the receiving of treatments with the possible consequence of dangerous side effects. We aim at all times to preserve the peace and tranquility of all guests within the spa. Low tolerance is applied to individuals who cause a nuisance and disturbance through not re

Children

Due to the active nature of the products Spa users wishing to use the Wet spa area must be a minimum age of 16, users wishing to have treatments must be minimum age of 18.

Before use of any of the facilities or Spa treatments a health consultation form must be fill out prior.

Gift Voucher

All Gift vouchers are valid for 6 months from date of purchase

Vouchers are only valid until the date specified on the voucher, after this date No exchange or refund for out of date vouchers is possible.

Monitory value vouchers can be redeemed towards products, Treatments or spa sessions

If you have purchased a particular package this cannot be changed at a later date.

Unfortunately if you lose your voucher this means your voucher becomes void, as we are unable to process this through the system

Management reserves the right to offer no refund on any gift voucher

The Abbey is not liable for any lost, stolen or damaged Gift Vouchers. We will at sole discretion replace any lost, stolen or damaged vouchers.

Please remember to bring your voucher to your spa day or treatment as no discount will be applied if a voucher is not produced

Loyalty cards

You can only receive one stamp per day, not per treatment

Stamps will be given after each treatment or session of the wet spa

£10 minimum spend to qualify for a stamp

All treatments must be booked in advance

Upon collection of 6 stamps the holder of this card is rewarded with a free ‘ADD ON’ treatment (please see price list). Reward can be claimed at the time or on a subsequent visit

Upon collection of 12 stamps the holder of this card is rewarded with a free 25 minute treatment up to the value of £25. Reward can be claimed at the time or on a subsequent visit

Loyalty cards are none transferable, cash alternatives are not available

The Abbey reserves the right to withdraw or amend this offer at any time

This card may not be used against retail products

All rewards must be redeemed within 12 month of your first treatment

You cannot transfer your loyalty card to another person for any reason

Treatments and spa sessions are subject to age and availability

Once you have earned your 6 stamps you must claim your free ADD ON treatment before you can redeem your 12th reward

The Abbey is not liable for any lost, stolen or damaged loyalty cards. We will at sole discretion replace any lost, stolen or damaged cards.

Private hire

50% deposit will need to be paid on the day of booking

A booking form must be completed on the day of booking

Maximum capacity for private hire is 20 people

Minimum age is 16

We require 48 hours notice on all bookings to avoid losing your deposit

You must notify us of any changes to existing or new medical conditions / injuries on every visit to the Spa. We will not be responsible if anything happens to you and we have not been informed. The Abbey reserves the right to refuse admission to any persons undergoing specific medical treatments that will hinder their recovery by going into the Spa or having treatments

Appropriate swim wear must be worn at all times

No food or drink can be consumed in the wet spa

Pregnant ladies are not permitted to use the spa

Before use of any if the facilities or Spa treatments a health consultation form must be fill out prior.

Pay as you go

The Spa Experience is for 2 hours only.

Appropriate swim wear must be worn at all times

Minimum age is 16

Guests who are, or appear to be under the influence of alcohol may be asked to leave.

Pregnant ladies are not permitted to use the spa

If you have a big group booking we advise you to arrive at least 30 minutes before the first appointment time as any lateness even once checked in will then be reduced from the treatment.

No photography at any time

*Please note – Single sex sessions are only guaranteed in the wet spa area as we may have clients of the opposite gender having treatments or making enquiries during these times.

Spa Packages

Late arrival for your appointment may result in that time being deducted from your treatment time.

Full payment is required for all Spa Day Packages at the time of booking. If you need to change your appointment we will try our best to accommodate you. Please note you may only move an appointment once.

We advise you to arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment in order to check in, complete a consultation card, change, relax and unwind

Please ensure you tell us any relevant information at the time of booking and we will advise you on the best experience and treatments suited to you.

Treatment courses

All courses are valid for 6 months from date of purchase

All courses are none transferable

Can only be used on treatments that the course has been purchased for

You cannot transfer your course to another person for any reason

All treatments must be booked in advance

The Abbey reserves the right to withdraw or amend this offer at any time

Courses are subject to age and availability

Management reserves the right to offer no refund on any courses

Third party bookings

Please remember to bring your third party voucher to your spa day or treatment as no discount will be applied if a voucher is not produced

Clients must also follow the 3rd party company terms and conditions

General rules and conditions

No photography at any time

The Abbey staff will not tolerate any verbal aggression and you may be asked to leave

If you are more than 15minutes late this will count as a missed appointment.

You are also responsible for informing staff about any changes in your medical condition

Please shower before using the wet spa area

Please do not use soaps, shampoo’s or other toiletries in the spa area

Please refrain from shaving in the shaving in the spa and changing rooms

Please wear appropriate swim wear at all times

No phones or cameras are allowed in the spa

No inappropriate language

No heavy petting

Intimidating and boisterous behavior will not be tolerated (this behavior will result in being asked to leave the facilities)

The spa is not suitable for pregnant ladies

No eating or drinking in the wet spa area. A water fountain is provided to keep you hydrated

Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and may result in you being asked to leave or your treatment being stopped

Refund

We have a strict no refund policy.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about a The Abbey you should send it in writing to the service manager, who will deal with the matter. If necessary, the service manager will refer the matter to the Council’s Corporate Complaints Team. Alternatively please speak to a member of the management team on the day so we can try and resolve any issues as quickly as possible.
